You bucket list fantasy sounds delightful. Your haiku is excellent. You're
correct, there is no need for an illustration because your poem gives the reader a good picture. I love the image of the snow storm creating a small and cozy world for the people who are in the cabin. Well done.

Your bucket list fantasy is a fun one. I hope you have a generator to play the movies! Your little poem flows well, and it is easy to imagine the snow drifts blocking the door of the cabin and covering the windows.
Thank you for sharing,
~patty~

Hi IndianaIrish - this is a good haiku with lines one and two interconnecting perfectly and your line three, the satori is very good. Peace and quiet desired and no picture was a good idea - I can visualize the scene well. Warm regards Dorothy x

Sounds like a cool place to be stranded... what with bearskin rugs, huge fires, mustic, wine, movies and the all important lover, naked and hungry for everything.... Sorry, I was getting carried away there Indy, But YEA! wouldn't it be great!

Hi Indy,

This is just a really lovely haiku. I enjoyed the imagery of the piece. You are correct, it doesn't need a picture. You've let the reader use their own imagination to envision the perfect scene for themselves and someone they love. Beautiful work!

Kim

How adventuresome you are! I like the lack of picture because the stark white background suffices. Quite a twist in the end to desire being isolated in a winter blizzard on a mountain!

Thank you, lyenochka. I truly appreciate your taking the time to read and share your thoughts for my winter haiku. It's funny I want to be stranded by winter in a mountain cabin when tonight there's thunderstorms and tornado warnings in northern Indiana.

Well, WishIndy -

In Valpo, you've been in blizzards, and that lake effect is something else. I've been in several blizzards that took my breath away and some where I felt I was lost in a white tornado of snow. I've also lived in several mountain cabins - my favorite one is up by Aspen, Co. and is a short walk to a hot springs pool where you can experience both fire and ice. Of course, in a blizzard, we would have to connect ourselves with rope and the cabin to be sure we found our way back. We might need a generator in case the electricity goes out. A wood burning stove would be nice, as well as case of your favorite wine. A variety of movies would be fun - for romance, stuff like 'Sleepless in Seattle' - for being stuck in blizzard, 'The Shining'- by Jack- and 'As Good as It Gets', for a touch of humor. We will need a couple of bear rugs, and candles for romance. You should also consider bringing writing implements and paper, in case you are inspired.

Your haiku sets a mood and fosters pleasant fantasies. Enjoyed it. ... ;o)

Hello KoldKuddlyKat! Thank you for this wonderful review, your generous, extra star, and always kind words.

It's been a strange winter in Valpo, and tonight there has been thunderstorms and tornado warnings.

Your Colorado cabin sounds awesome! I've had this fantasy of being stranded in a mountain cabin for a long time. I love the idea of not having any worries ... just time. I guess I'll always hope for that blizzard. LOL

    Thanks, Kat.
    Smiles,
    WishingIndy :-)
