I'm glad you understand Europe so much better than we do ourselves. Why don't you come over and advise us all.
I was not allowed to post this as it was too short for the site. But I have no more to say. With all this filling I'm sure I'm allowed to post it. Ulla.

For many years the United States has taken exceptional care of Europe.

Why do you think so many Europeans leave their homelands at the drop of a hat to come to the United States?

Undoubtedly, you would be at the very front of that parade.

Actually by birth I'm half American, but sorry, I wouldn't even be in the line. Always liked America, felt great affinity, Have my half brother over there. Our father being American, but I love to live here in Spain. So one less for you to worry about. Ulla

It is only fair right if we have to why not other countries. I think being quiet after the meeting and statements, was a wise move on our part. Nicely done and you are at least putting some of my fears to rest

You know Brett, and this is just an observation of the whole new presidency and his acceptance by ALL not just half of Americans or what ever the proportion is,
America have got to realize no matter WHAT they think of Trump they have him in power for another 4 year term.
Now on saying this Trump has to be very careful on a gung ho approach to policy changes especially foreign policy. He must step tenderly and strategically in his new direction and attitude. To negate foreign policies and completely change them could be counter productive in going forward as a new country with a new attitude of looking after their own backyard first and foremost.
America is a great and powerful nation and have had their defenses centered all around the world. Countries rely on their alliances without their input these countries will feel vulnerable. I can understand they are worried in lack of response and to not fielding questions.
The world as we know it is in for interesting times. I just hope his spin doctors know exactly what they are doing.

    Glad you enjoyed this essay.

And, you are correct when you state he is in power for the next 4 years any way.
