Those first carefree, wobbly steps are such a wonderful delight. I've been enjoying them too with my one year old granddaughter visiting for a few weeks. Hence little time for FS!

I've seen several foals born, and I have to admit you are spot-on in your assessment of their gait, Karyn.
They most definitely are quite wobbly...at first.
However, it doesn't take them long before they're running right alongside of Momma.
Well done.

Thanks for your kind review and comments for my colt haiku, Dean. I love watching those first few moments on wobbly legs before they catch on how they work, and then they take off. They look so happy.

Good verb choice with 'prances. Wobbly legs plants a picture. A colt would be carefree (assonance here). If it were older an observer would thing the mammal is drunk. :-)

This is so cute. Reminds me of myself here, attempting to prance with grace and elegance on my wobbly legs, yet so very free to jolly well romp!
Thanks!

Excellent, Indy. I wish I had a six for this. It is perfect in every way. The satori is wonderful. You should have saved this for one of those haiku contests they run on here all the time. Thanks for sharing. Blessings. Bob

The pic fits perfectly with your words. There is a happy feeling in your poem as I see the colt on a carefree romp. Your lines connect together well and a clear picture is created.

Hi IndianaIrish.
Your poem is wonderful to read. The picture of the little colt running
is very nice too. It goes very well with your poem and it looks happy
to be running, probably for the first time.
