Isn't it amazing how quickly they get on their feet after birth? And us humans take forever. You picked a cute picture as well. It demonstrates your last line perfectly. :)

Tessa, thank you for your great review and comments for my colt haiku. . I'm delighted you enjoyed the poem, and I appreciate your kind response. It's amazing to watch their wobbly legs turn into prancing ones in such a short time.

A lovely well structured haiku. It looks like the horse is having so much fun. Do horses smile? I could swear he is. Nice addition to the book, my friend~Debbie

I've run the gamut with those little shorties from not liking them at all--to seeking them out. This is a "feel good" piece, and that's the kind of writing I look for these days. All the many babies born in spring are full of themselves, and (I'm convinced) well aware of their Creator. So fun to watch!

I think this is a good response to this weeks challenge. You picked a great subject. You have clear imagery in your first two lines and good aha moment of insight in your satori. Well done, my friend

This is a fun, vivid haiku I can see and imagine even without the picture. You use strong, vivid verbs allowing me to see the action of a colt running and playing for the first time_ prances, wobbly, and romp. You also used a tight 3-5-3 economy of words. Thank you for sharing your contributions to this book.

Hello,
Beautiful in its simplicity and elegant composition. Your phrase is well connected and your satori is an observation.
