Well crafted essay on the issues facing the United States regarding illegal immigration. It's notable that England voted to end its participation in the EU for many of the same reasons that DJT was elected president. Our country has always had an uneasy relationship with its immigrants, whether from Europe, Eastern Europe, Asia, or now Central and South America.

Very well written. I think the problem was that the situation of illegals entering the U.S. and remaining for so many years without getting into trouble. Now it'll be hard to get the back. Mexico has a tough emigration policy, if anyone foolishly wants to inter that country illegally. There will be all kinds of legal maneuvering to keep illegal aliens in the U.S. from being deported. The sanctuary cities aid and abet even the lawless among them. It should make a difference in government expenditures if there aren't so many illegal aliens to educate and feed and house. We'll have to see how the program goes. judi

The problem is that while the Democrats were in power deporting illegal immigrants, which occurred all the time, was okay.
Now that the Democrats are out of power all they can do is scream long and loud about what they themselves were doing, and was at that time okay.

I agree with you on this issue. Raids on businesses looking for illegals used to be commonplace after the Reagan amnesty laws were put In place,but not always followed.
I live in California and if you do not speak Spanish it is difficult to get work. The building industry is totally Hispanic, from carpentry to carpet installation.
These people are taking jobs. California is so Democratic that it doesn't help to vote.

While the Democrats were in power deportations occurred all the time and nothing was ever said about them happening.
Now that the Democrats are no longer in power all they can do is scream long and loud about what they themselves were doing.

When we have treaties with Mexico about immigration and those treaties are dismissed, then we can be assured that the illegals will continue to flood the border. There has to be a strengthening of our laws. To allow the illegals to gain benefits from being here illegally while many of our elderly are denied a cost of living for 3 years in the past eight years, I say is so wrong. A very well-written informative editorial. It is always better to prevent something than to try and cure it. There will still be illegals that is going to be illegal for years before they may be caught.

I'll admit that the President says and does things that seem a little far fetched, but this one makes a lot of sense.
