This poem reminded me of our garage growing up in New Jersey. It was a separate structure from the house, and so it didn't get any heat until the car inside was also warmed-up. Standing outside, waiting for my mother to back out the car, we often stood seriously close to similar daggers.
The poem meets the haiku requirements--while adding the ability to allow one to reach into his/her own experiences.
