A few winters ago, on my mom's eave, I watched the icicles grow, hoping one would reach the ten feet to the ground. It missed by a foot. Yep, spears when they thaw! Excellent Haiku, says Red the semiliterate.

Another great haiku for the challenge, Robyn. Those icicles can be so beautiful, but indeed they can be very dangerous. Great photo to compliment your poem.
Smiles,
Karyn :-)

Hi, Robyn. This is very good: I suppose some reviewers might think the satori starts too early, in the second line, but I don't care. There is such a lovely flow from your first to your last line, that I think nothing else matters, especially since your last line is so strong. I like it. Lots. Margaret

Yes a quintessential image of the winter season when the mercury really plummets - a warning of what is likely to follow - and a great pic

tiny icicle
transforms to winter dagger
danger ahead

another of your cleverly thoughtout haikus - they do indeed look like dangerous daggers.

Yes and I've been hearing stories about how true that can be! Dreadful! Thanks!

Dear Robyn, They do indeed and I had many of them by my window. After this warm weekend everything has melted.
Nice strong haiku with this one.
Thanks for sharing.

Wow, does it ever. When I lived in Michigan, the icicles were downright deadly. This is a chilling haiku Miss Robyn, nicely done! Blessings...

Hi Robyn:

I have plenty of those that hang off the side of my house every winter. When we were kids we would break them off and suck on them like a popsicle. Those were the carefree days lol

Nice job with the short-long-short presentation on your haiku.
