As long as they are not bragging on my being there dinner. I won't protest. This is very well written with a smooth flow of word, making for a very good read.

Awe, very nice looking presentation with the whale and sea imagery. The azure array of colors is like tranquility. BOO has heard whales while monitoring hydrophones dropped into the ocean. Sonobuoys for tracking submarines but hydrophones pick up ambient sea noises like snapping shrimp and whales! is creepy when all the crew sleeps... you got your headsets on reclined in the seat of an Orion patrol aircraft ,and hear these whales sing... sends an eerie chill up your spine while tracking subs in the dark. And sound travels faster in water than air because of the density of sea salt called salinity and the sounds bend depending on the temperature of the ocean. warm water sound travels faster in the ocean. Sound bends so if you got a (CZ) zone contact means that sound bends for perhaps 25 miles before returning to the surface. I probably heard mating whales, just did not realize that. Not sure what this week's haiku club challenge is. mammals perhaps? Excellent choice. BOO!

I captured the whale sound while snorkeling in Maui a few years ago just with my little underwater video camera. I didn't even realize it until we got home and watched the videos. It is cool. Yes, it was about mammals. Thanks BOO!!

Snorkling is fun. Did some snorkeling in Diego Garcia, remote island in middle of Indian ocean. Mainly military stayed on this very small tropical island. We had plenty hammerheads and whales, porpoises, stingrays. remember to spit on your facemask.

I like whale song too. Never saw a whale while I was in the Navy, but we were require to reduce the use of our sonar while in the a certain protected area in the Atlantic between Florida and the Bahamas. I may have heard them while listening to the pings though. Not sure, but that's what the sonar tech told me. Someday maybe I will catch a whale in the lense of my camera. Good effort on this haiku...

I've captured their picture on camera and also their sound on my underwater video camera while snorkeling in Maui. It was cool. Thanks for the review.

A-h-h-h-hhhh...a little double entendre, some fun plays on words here in your phrase as well as the satori, 'ey, Teresa?
I happen to enjoy a good play on words myself from time to time.
Nicely done...

I really like the basic concept of this one, my friend, You first two lines paint a clear and vivid picture and I like your satori. My only concern is the rhyme of whales and wails - I would try to change wails to some other word, I think

The sound is a sad sound they say I never been close to a whale to hear them. Many people go to lengths to travel to see them up close and personal.

Comment from Dorothy Farrell
Hi Teresa - this is a very good haiku with lines one and two interconnecting well. Your satori is very good with a clever play on words. Good use of homophone with the word 'wails'. Good addition for the book. Warm regards Dorothy xx

Excellent work with this haiku. The first two lines connect perfectly and your satori with the play on the word 'wails' is perfect. Very nice job with this one.
