There is no writing you cannot weave into something wonderful. What a lovely Haiku. I enjoyed the two "whales" spelled differently. The illustration was perfect.

Great play on words in your satori, Teresa. Whales are so amazing, and I enjoyed your wonderful haiku. Their songs are incredibly soothing and love relaxation tapes with their sounds. Excellent haiku.
Smiles,
Karyn :-)

I love their sounds too. I captured their sound on my underwater video camera. I was really surprised my camera could pick it up. Thanks so much.

I like your haiku. The first two lines connect very well and form a concrete image in my mind and the sound of their voices is very beautiful
Your satori is lovely
Very well done.

Love the "observation" lines
cry of whales
heard for miles 'neath ocean waters
they are such powerful imagery and so iconic!
The satori is deceptively clever - at first blush it is pure sound
imagery. . .as whale song does have that "wail" intonation. . .
but the longer I let it drift through my mind, the more I fell in
love with "wail" as "cry out for, beseech"
Nicely done :-)

I'm glad you picked up on the wail being crying out for:) You are very perceptive when you read my poetry. Thanks so much:)

Oooh, I really like seeing and hearing whales. I enjoyed your 3-8-3 form for this haiku and your "whales/wails" wordplay, plus the neat picture. Smiles- Joan

cleverly penned. Good choice of word to use for different meanings but same sound, and I can't remember what it's called. Great photo that you've chosen as well.
good luck in the contest
