I would happily give up all of this cold weather to hear the cicada song again tonight. It can be annoying at times, especially when they all chimed in, but it can be a relaxing thought of summer as well. Your haiku poem reminds me of those days.. Thanks

cicadas humming
on sun-filled summer days
winged music maestros
They make a great sound, and I hear it only every 17 years.

They are sure loud! I used to think they sounded more like chainsaws. But I like this picture much better of a "winged music maestro" filling the hot summer air.

I like your haiku
your first two lines connect well and form a concrete image.
The satori is very fitting for this busy and noisy insect.
Best of luck to you in the contest.

A very well-written haiku. The cicadas are not often seen, but we can clearly hear them on a very hot Summer's day singing their hearts out.

This is a fine insect haiku I can see and feel. You capture the feel and sound of summer with the "cicadas humming." Your satori "winged music maestros" is brilliant, reminding me of an orchestra's conductor.
Thank you for sharing. I wish you success in the contest.

Very nice. The Cicada's noise on those hot summer days tends to give the impression that the land is sizzling in the heat! This makes the Satori works so well.

Novel, fascinating and interesting! I liked and enjoyed the insightful and concrete imagery interconnected in this Haiku, Nature in action is a word artwork studded with musical word visual imagery, and free flow of thoughts in words with sounds.

I think you wrote an excellent Haiku in 17 syllables. I like the use of alliteration and the imagery of days that are sun filled summer ones and comparing the insects
to winged music maestros. Well done!

Hello anonymous poet,
Winged music maestros ... nice alliteration, and what a lovely analogy in the 'aha' line.
Best wishes for the contest.
Happy Valentine's day.
