Hi Pat,
we all need a safe place to go and gather our thoughts, escape the pace of life and just be able to have a bit of me time. Where better than in the woods where you know that you will not be disturbed. Family can push us to our limits and make us angry but that is because we care about what they think and feel and that may not always be how we think and feel.
A great poem.

Beautiful! This is such a good reminder even when we don't have conflict with family but to go and be with God even if it means staying indoors but to rest in Him and place all our cares in His Hands.

I enjoy these picture this challenges. You did a very nice job with this one. Many are fortunate to find a peaceful place to relax and let the stresses of life lift from their shoulders. The place you describe is very appealing. As I said, nice work with this one. It flowed smoothly and is definitely uplifting.

this is lovely and has a nice, restful quality about it. You describe the benefit of having a place to retreat, a place where you could feel peace. Like you, I found the woods a wonderful place to go to when I was young. It had a soothing effect. Especially lovely last stanza, and the flow is perfect for the mood of the poem. judi

My mother never went to church. She said too many hypocrits were there. She went out back to her enclosed paradise of young trees and worshiped in her own way
