Wow that's quite a picture and informative notes! I had know idea drones date back to the 70's and there are now such micro versions. I enjoyed your whimsical haiku and noted that you even included alliteration for added intensity. Cheers- Joan

Thank you, Joan, for your review of my "whimsical haiku." I was stunned to find video of the CIA testing dragonfly drones.
Today's versions are cleverer. More and smaller drones are under development.
Thank you also for noting that my alliteration added intensity. Cheers.

Lol. Oh dear. We don't need those kinds of "bugs." I do think dragonflies and damselflies are really cool. I'll just imagine your dragonfly was the real kind attracted to the wet bather. They like water. In the summer, they always appear while I water the garden.

Yes, lyenochka, it was the real kind of dragonfly, but I am amazed at what we have been able to achieve with a different kind of "bug." Thank you for your review.

Sis--
Thanks, like this a lot more than most haiku. I like your additional information here. How does poetry keep up with the drone tech world? I think I know but that's just me. The haiku is clever and funny but then, yes, develops a serious tone. Does evolution, "evolution" stem from the future, from some technical singularity capable of making insects biologically? Kind of where my thinking is going. The "Word" is very important here.
Thanks, enjoyed this.

Yes, Jeff, I wrote this haiku last September when a dragonfly followed me and I imagined it was a drone. It was only when I posted my poem Sunday and searched for a picture that I discovered dragonfly drones are real. This adds a serious tone to a haiku I originally intended as clever and funny. Poetry will continue to keep up with and sometimes outpace the drone tech world. Thank you for your review.

I hope it is a real dragonfly and not a drone. Imagine the films made once those drones are on the loose. Dragonfly swatter sales would increase.

Yes, Mark, I did not know insect drones exist until I searched for a picture to accompany my haiku. They are making drones smaller so they would be hard to detect. Thank you for your review.

This little poem is well written with a few lines. The facts included in the video and your explanation beneath are a bit scary. I wonder how many insects will be captured and put in jars for the science fair...
You tell a short story well. I've always toyed with the idea of being a story teller, yet crowds scared me. I think I am ready now.
It's been while since catching up on this site and writing reviews. Good to see new work to my eyes.

Jewell, go for it and tell your stories. It makes you a better and more interesting pot, writer, and person. Even with haiku I tell a short story. Thank you for your generous review.

Yes, John, it is quite scary. When I wrote my haiku last year I did not know that dragonfly drones exist. I just imagined a dragonfly as a surveillance drone. It was only when I found pictures and videos such as these did I discover that they exist. Thank you for your review.

The dragonfly is so pretty so the idea of a mechanical one is so strange. Your haiku is humorous and makes the reader laugh. And I am sure it has already happened, a robot dragonfly has hovered over a nude sunbather.

Yes, mermaid, I am glad my humorous haiku made you laugh. When I saw my first drone over City Hall in San Francisco on Halloween night I felt my privacy was violated because I was filmed without permission. Thank you for your review.

You're welcome, Gypsy. This haiku caught me off guard. I wrote it in September when I saw a dragonfly hover over me and I imagined it as a drone. It was only when I searched for an accompanying image did I discover that dragonfly drones exist. Without changing a word, my haiku took on a Big Brother interpretation. Thank you for your review.

Our government is turning into a scifi horror flick. If that happened to me I would really feel angry and violated.
This haiku is the real deal. Thank for sharing, sweetie pie,
Gypsy

Really enjoyed this clever haiku, scarey to think big brother can actually monitor us anywhere. Nowhere seems to be sacred anymore.
Great artwork to accompany
Thanks for sharing

Yes, the accompanying artwork took this clever haiku to another level because I did not know that dragonfly drones existed until I found the pictures and films. Thank you for your review.
