Hi Dean - a real creepy haiku. Plenty of alliteration and a picture that made me cringe LOL. Anything like that REALLY gets to me, ugh! Written with your usual flair. Interesting story about this new wasp. Sounds like a good mother LOL. There's a lot in nature that sounds cruel (look at the human race) but it's all about survival isn't it? Well done. This book could go on forever when you think of the number of insect species on earth - and that's only the ones we know about. Regards Dorothy x

Hi Dean - a real creepy haiku. Plenty of alliteration and a picture that made me cringe LOL. Anything like that REALLY gets to me, ugh! Written with your usual flair. Interesting story about this new wasp. Sounds like a good mother LOL. There's a lot in nature that sounds cruel (look at the human race) but it's all about survival isn't it? Well done. Wow, this terrifyingly morbid wasp is the epedemy creepy insect. It doesn't surprise me that THIS is the insect YOU chose for our haiku challenge. Hahaha.

Dean, now that's one horrific wasp. But not alone in the young feeding off live food. The organisation seems to be more developed to any I have heard. Burying ants to use the formic acid in their bodies as a type of defence is just plain horror.
Well written and presented in good detail.

Wicked wasp. Now that is a fine example of an alliteration. Words go together like ham & cheese. You really did your research here. Educational read. Who said insects were dumb? We could learn by observing the insects. Just because they are small don;t mean they are not smart. The dinosaurs were huge but had a small brain and we are small in comparison. She then proceeds to capture spiders and places them in each cell for her future young to eat. She chews of the legs of her arachnid victims so they can't crawl away. Essentially, the spiders are devoured alive, having no legs with which to escape their grisly fate. Now that is a bad wasp! Wonder if the wasp stings the spider first? Spiders have fangs. Video helps. Words are artful. Very unique blend. This is not a simple ordinary haiku about insects. Your research shows here and your time is exhibited here in may art forms and vivid imagination. You reap what you sow. BOO

Well thought up Dean. I can certainly relate to this piece after getting attacked by an angry wasp last weekend while swimming at a friends pool. Thank God no bites though. Another great piece.
