Dear Dean, this is a fabulous work, your word choices alone bring it to life...or death:) I especially loved line three, original and powerfully thought provoking.
Great job here.
Thanks for sharing.

Dean, as I've said before, short poems, such as Haikus, are not something I like as a steady diet. Having said that, your structure, presentation and, obviously, great research, keep pulling me in. I am never disappointed and have certainly gotten additional education. Who knew, Dean knew, about these spider leg removing momma wasps. Thanks for continuing to write. I even thought, fleetingly, about joining the Haiku Club. You may be creating a monster. Mr. Kuchenstein. By the way, I went back back and read it to my wife and discovered Haiku is missspelled in the title.

Okay--you get a six for grossing me the hell out!!! I see you as very gifted in horror and awesome writing. Thank you, for the report on the bone-house wasp. Glad it isn't around here--ugh! Poor spiders--never thought I would feel sorry for spiders. :P
Hey, take care, Dean.

A very well-written haiku and an interesting bug to reckon with. In nature it seems all animals from the smallest to the biggest have their own survivor skills developed for their unique conditions.

That certainly is one bad ass Momma. hope they stay in China. 'Fetid Feng Shui' indeed. A creepy but well described Haiku Dean and amazing to read about this wicked wasp.

That is one mean wasp. Wicked wasp - great line. We have wasps all summer and they build mud houses in the garage and under the eaves. Nasty things. We don't use pesticides to keep our bees, but we will get up early and, in the cool of the morning, knock down their mud houses. I'll be remembering your haiku in May!

I do not know what fascinates me more, your Haiku or your topics. This is one creepy mean spider. She would make a great character in a book. As a human, of course. Thanks for sharing this loveliness first thing in the morning for me. LOL.
Hugs

Great and scary picture of this killing wasp. Thanks for explaining when and where she was found, quite recently. What a terrible way to treat your kids,
Best wishes for the contest.
