I bet there has never been a dull moment in your household, and you are definitely more a prime agitator than an enforcer to keep things in order. Thanks for sharing another one of your always fun stories.

Oh trust me, there is a lot of down time between heightened events in my life, Ric. I thank you once again for your wonderful review. Hope you are feeling well after your surgery.

Hahaha! I have two dogs, any many others over the years. Cleaning up steaming poop is a skill I have learned. My back yard may be snow covered, but there are many frozen poop-sicles hidden beneath said snow.

We wanted to get married on Feb 14 but it landed on a Monday that year. So we married Feb 12. Our first child was born Feb 11 so I spent our first anniversary in the hospital. Spent Valentines Day in hospital that year too.

This would have been a good story for Chicken Soup For The Soul as they were looking for dog rescue stories. I think you missed the submission deadline for that one.

Just a few nits I noticed and wondered about:

- "...took place (give) years ago..." - 6th paragraph

- "...permission didn't go over (do) big..." -

    Skilz! You've got that right!

Thank you so much for your RR&R, Joy. And for catching my ooops! It never ceases to amaze me how I miss the obvious! Have a great weekend!

What the hell? Do you have something against winning contests? This is a perfect entry for the Valentine's prose contest. Too late now. Once it's posted, that is. Jeez Louise.
(I TOLD you I have Bruni's mother in my head - you're lucky she listened to me for once and kept her potty mouth half-clean. "Jeez Louise" was NOT what she said first.)

One other blessing, this time courtesy of moi - had you been here, you would have witnessed the effect of uncontrollable laughter on a sixty-five year old asthmatic - then had multiple heart attacks as I gasped, choked and damn near peed my pants. (That last bit isn't me again - the witch is having her way with me. She says it serves me right for questioning Bruni's manners about you getting out of the car.) (Wish I still had a six for this stellar piece.)

**********************HILARIOUS!!!***********************

LMAO, on your review...Yes, I don't do contests. My early rejections of receiving zero votes messed with Bruni's head, and she has forbade me from ever entering them again. Plus, they cost so much in reviewing dollars/hours and she is already bitching about the lack of sleep since joining FanStory a year ago... :D

    Have an awesome weekend, friend!

Ah, but the contest is a site one - those are free to enter. (And that dreadful woman is laughing!)

Hahaha! Never a dull moment in your life.
A couple suggestions:
my husband or I have embraced
and (he) was being overly dramatic
few times over our -Delete often because it's superfluous
I really enjoyed reading your story.

Hi Heidi, I think I should send you an award at the end of the year for most catches... LOL. Thank you so much. As always, I appreciate your time and talent in reviewing. Have a wonderful weekend.

Your post is very informative, there are details about caring for the dog and the affinity it has for the owners. I never had one because I am working full day. No one will take care of the dog when I'm working. I also learned a lot about the phobia of the number thirteen, I didn't know there is such kind of phobia. Thanks for sharing.

Hi there, I want to thank you for your wonderful RR&R and feedback. I had to laugh at the name attached to the phobia for Friday the 13th. I can see that as a spelling bee challenge! I understand the challenge with dog ownership. Not everyone can do it. Not to mention the many that do and shouldn't...Have a wonderful weekend, and thanks again!

Ah, thank you so much for the oooopsies...I go back and correct one thing and somehow screw up three more in the process!

Too funny. You have a great voice. I understand how you feel about Princess. We had Little Red, a dog who just showed up at our lake property one day. We took her home and had her for only a few years. She was the best dog ever. Lucky for us, we have four acres for our dogs to play on. They have a heated/air conditioned home but don't get to come in the house.

Good for you, keeping those knees together for the entire 24 hours of February 13, and kudos for your son for his participation in a V-Day birth. And, I was going to suggest a tennis ball on a string for your garage - but your husband was way ahead of me!

Seriously, great piece. I laughed out loud several times. And I know you must have loved Princess to keep her after that particular incident!

Hi there, thank you so much for your wonderful RR&R and feedback. They say these dogs find us and it sounds like your little red one did just that. I can't imagine four acres for my dogs. They would love it. Thanks so much for another wonderful review. Have a great weekend!

I've always thought Valentines Day was a made up holiday invented by Hallmark, thus I have always fought the urge to celebrate it, but my wife considers it the most wondrous of all holidays, so we compromise. We celebrate it as the best holiday ever.

LOL, your one-liners are hilarious. Thank you for your RR&R and have a great weekend. Better take your wife back to that fancy pants restaurant you wrote about once...

Fun story. Sounds like quite a day. You are lucky the fire didn't do more damage. You do seem to lead an eventful life, my friend

Hi Doug, thank you so much for your RR&R and feedback. If I could remember half the stuff, I might have enough for a novella :D

I appreciate your feedback. Have a wonderful weekend!
