Hi Tab,
I think you did a really good job in writing this in the chapter you were on.
I always enjoy reading your work and will continue to do so now that I'm back.
I have four more messages to answer then I'll try to post a poem.

Bugs need to put their two cents worth in the food chain of eaters. There are on a path od destruction Tand continue on till they are through for the time being.

Oh yes a true haiku.
Loved the two interconnecting lines introducing the bugs, and the last line is clear to anyone who has watched plants being devoured. lol

Ah, very clever, Teresa, and there's nothing here that "bugs me" about this well-written haiku.
Thanks so much for yet another outstanding addition to the book.
Good luck in the selection process!

I like this one, my friend. Solid first two lines with clear imagery that would stand without the picture. The satori is a good insight into the first two lines and fun play on words with the more typical "food for thought"

Indeed, 'aha' how fantastic this Haiku I find as I enjoyed Nature in action, so clearly conveyed the theme in good flow of thoughts coupled with fantastic commentary visual imagery, superb contrast element, treat and wisdom reflection.

Lovely work with this. Yes, the arrival of spring and all that comes with it. I am enjoying these challenges, just don't have the nerve to try one myself.
