Dear Debbie, I used to see this often at Bon Echo. Your words brought the image perfectly to my mind. Sometimes when the clouds do that shrouding effect it gives it a ghostly presence.
Excellent haiku.

Fantastic, glowing, pleasing and intelligent use of allegory and metaphoric thoughts expressed in free flow and shaded but vivid visual imagery, obviously I enjoyed the Haiku has an 'aha' effect indeed.

A lot of haiku I read seem more like 5-7-5 but this oneis a true haiku. I can see the two lines of imagery with the fog covering the moon. And the aaaahhhh line of luna's eclipse
