Honestly, I hope The Donald finds a way around it. This is one of Trump's decisions I wholeheartedly agree with.

You can be assured the Democrats in the Senate will all unite to vote against DeVos. Republicans are likely to be all over the place. Susan Collins is never a sure vote. I don't know why some one who hasn't worked in Education can't be effective in running the department. I think someone who is for options in schooling would be a good choice. Sometimes students don't have a fair shot in schools in the poor community schools. If Democrats oppose her, I hope they are doing it for good reason, not just to be obstructive. Your points are well made. judi

Betsy DeVos is not the right fit for Education Secretary. She lacks the knowledge and experience for the position. Will be interesting to see the final result on this one.

A very well-written editorial. If there are concerns about a nominee it must be proven without a doubt, that the nominee is incompetent. No one is absolutely perfect, anyone can get nervous when speak in front an audience that watch your every move.

Picking his ministers as we call them in Australia or secretary of each port folio is always going to be contentious a bit of 'toing' and 'froing', pushing and pulling should have his cabinet as he wants it.... to everybody's agreement? They will always be contentious choices I am sure. good luck
