Thank you, Judy! I appreciate your comments! I'm not very clever, either. But I enjoy trying! *smile* Have a super weekend!

Birds, snakes, frogs - how about some mammalian poetry? Birds, as your photo points out, have to be among the stupidest of God's creatures (and yet they're still above Donald Trump on the IQ chart).
Sorry - must have gotten up on the wrong side of bed. As always, your mind goes to a unique place with this one. Ode to a splattered bird - I love it!

Yes, yes. I do have a strange mind. When everyone else is singing - or tweeting the praises of the singing creatures, I am splattering them against a house... what's wrong with me? (refer to my last set of poems, esp the stomach worms...) UGH. And I have READERS, for heaven's sake! There's something wrong with this picture! HAHAHAHAHA!

This is a very well written haiku you have penned. I liked the idea of the pretty clear skies but then comes along that one little bird that just can't help but to fly into the glass! Great job my friend! love, Teri

A bird flying into a plate glass window will always come out the loser. This is very well written with a painful flow of words, making for a good read.

Dear Robin, Oh I hate when they do that. I've had to bury a few birds in my time after they've flown into the windows.
This one makes the heart ache a bit, or I can almost hear the smack as they hit. Sad.
Nicely penned though, you brought it to life sort to speak.
Thanks for sharing.

I'm sure the birdie knew exactly what it was doing, Robyn.
You see, it's what's commonly referred to in Ornithological circles as "A Kamikaze Scout"
The flock sends out one brave bird to run headlong into a window, screen, or patio door, sometimes at great expense to the scout; up to and including death.
The task of these brave birds is to draw the attention of cats in homes which cats are known to live in an effort to distract the feline fiends.
If the bird survives the initial crash, it then proceeds to taunt the cat, thus giving the flock additional time to use bird baths, feeders, or anything else at said residence that might assist them.
Cool, right?
Heh-heh-heh...
Nice haiku.

Yep. I have a window on the corner of my porch which has flattened more than one bird. Very well written following the requirements of haiku with a great satori, my friend~Debbie
