Okay. I begin to worry about me because I continue to read what you write and encourage you to write more! Sheesh! I must be confused, I know I am misguided, paranoid, but not innocent since age six. So, there are 50 shades of poetry. Which is this?

Your very descriptive Haiku describes an all too common occurrance of birds flying smack into a clear, clean window. Well written commentary on an avian issue.

Oh, oh! Poor birdy. Poor homeowner who has to clean up the mess! This is a vivid haiku which dramatically told a story about a bird colliding into glass.
Thank you for sharing your creativity and passion for haiku.

Yeah. Sometimes I worry about me... but what about those sweet people who put up with this mess and continue to read it? Poor silly folks!! Ha!
-
you have a point...but they are pretty great people...see how much they love you...me too...xxoo love

I don't know... I think they're confused, misguided, precious, dear, innocent and blind.

I'm not a big fan of these short, shorts except when they're funny. And this is funny.
You have really illustrated how a few choice words can convey a whole lot. Flat bird is a hoot and made me think of all those cartoons in the past where the characters got smashed, flattened, etc., but not really hurt. Good work, Robyn.

Thank you, LM! And I'm really glad you saw the humor AND the whimsy - without the animal really getting hurt. That's how I see it, too. YAY! Yeah, most all of my haiku lean toward the senryu side of things which is the ironic, wittier (TRYING to be, anyway!) cousin. If I write TRUE haiku, I try to make them a bit funny or else VERY DEEP and WISE. I want there to be something you take away from it. I don't like the throw-away ones, either.
Thank you for giving me one of the best compliments, EVER! Hugs-

I'm so glad I made you feel good with my compliment. As you know, we don't all react the same way to the same writings. As for me, how I react often is based on how much sleep I've had. (I have a real problem with insomnia.)So, if you post something deep and I don't get it, it could just mean I'm brain dead from lack of sleep, haha. Hugs back.

LOL poor little fellow, bang! Against the glass, that had to hurt.
The picture is weird. It looks like a fantom owl. How did you do that? Good job, honey.

I wonder if birds really fall for that trick and smash themselves against a window. Mine aren't too clear, so they probably wouldn't mistake them for sky. Inventive topic, and great satori--flat bird. My kitten Smokey has volunteered to watch the windows to keep the birds from mistakenly crashing into them. Fun poem1 judi

I don't know how Dean comes up with that clever artwork. judi

LMAO!
This is so damn funny! Quit washing your windows so he can see the silly things.
Last time I encountered a flat bird my dog ate it. There is a short story about that incident.
Great haiku, love it!
