A very well-written prose poem. Our whole lives we have something to do with water. Before we are born in the womb until we die, even our bodies have a percentage of water.

It says potlatch, yet you entered in a free verse contest. I was confused to begin, and now still so. But this is what I think of as free verse. Looks excellent to me.

thank you , Yes I started writing and couldn't stop the story so it did end up free verse. Sometimes I just write like that. Thank you so much for your encouragement. sometimes if I am writing a Potlatch challenge I look for a contest to enter at the same time. That way if I actually come up with something it also has a chance in the contest. Just an idea.
