Oh Sandra. How I love reading your poems they are such a delight and your story telling is superb. I read this through once and then again very slowly to absorb your words and what a lovely message. the drifter will not think of the man as John Doe but as the kind stranger who knew his time was up and he could one last thing for a fellow man before he went. Wonderful and you are right its what we do in life is how we will ne remembered. Rhyme and meter lovely Another sixer ( You get all mine LOL ) Cheers Christine

A very well-written poem with such a good message.I believe also that you are here for a reason and when it is time for you to leave you will pass away and there is nothing anyone can do to stop it. this is a very good poem and as I have already said it has a very special meaning. I hope a lot of the members read this and understand it.

It is so sad to think that a person could live and die and not even have his or her name known, To not have those who could have cared and those who knew where the life had started, where it led and who it was that made a difference to the person. Patricia

It is sad, Patricia, and unfortunately there are many people who do die alone. Thank you so much for reading my poem, I really appreciate it. :) Sandra xxx

Oh, my dear,

I love the journey this poem took me on.

We each have our time to do something,
for people to remember us by.
It is what you do that will matter;
there is no room for questioning why. ... how wise, how lovely .

Not going to nitpick over a few wee wobble in metre. Gladly handing over a six for the wonderful, timely message.

Hugs and kisses,

xx

Sonali :)

Bless you, my wonderful friend. I've added the apostrophe. :) Thank you, dear Sonali, for this lovely review, I'm glad you liked it. I wasn't sure at the beginning where I was going to take it, so was pleased that it came together nicely. (I think I have a little genie sitting on my shoulder, lol.) Thank you, my dear friend. I love it that you are back again. Sending you the biggest hug you've ever had for the 6 shiny stars. :)) Sandra xxxx

What an interesting story, Sandra. We all have a special place in this world, don't we? Even a seeming drifter is someone with a special purpose and place. Very cool!

Sandra....I feel your poem to be one of Wisdom and Understanding of people and why so many of them are unhappy.

It stuck a note in me since I experienced exactly what you wrote about.

I often wondered why I was here so long at 90 since I was unable to post or write anything for several months. Then on Christmas Day I fell backwards and almost cracked my skull...my head was bleeding so profusely and paramedics were unable to stop the bleeding and I refused to go to the hospital....concussion or no concussion or broken back or whatever.

The beauty and Wisdom of this occurrence is because my question of several months was answered plus one other and only fear in my life....the fear of physical pain.

the Paramedics asked me if I felt any Pain as I lay there watching what was going on and dying, and I simply answered "NO." What a revelation! God had answered my Prayer and I no longer fear physical pain.

But there was more of a revelation thab that. I had felt so worthless and convinced myself that I could not write and felt so inferior to the other writers on FS.....but the message I got when I wanted to die right then and theew was the answer that hounded me for so long.

The message I got was...."Your work is finished here....Now you must go back and revive the poems and writings you posted back in 2009-2014. I was shocked and did as I was told.

To date I think I have six posts going (with pay, lol) and fantastic reviews, and reviewers understanding the depth of my writings and no longer remarks of my having a wild imagination, etc. when all of my supernatural experiences were true and hard for some to believe although I was able to find Scriptures relating to them.

Thank your for sharing, and I sincerely enjoyed and APPRECIATE the way you presented it.
Sincerely.....Nan, with lots of love and a great big hug.

Oh, Nan, you were so lucky, it could have had a tragic ending. You really are blessed my friend. I will go and have a look at your postings, I've been writing a novel, (yes, it surprised me too!) and it took up all my time. I'm just about finished and then I have to spend some time editing it. So, I will be in and out of FS for a while. Thank you so much for taking the time to read my long poem, Nan, I really appreciate you. Big hugs and lots of love back! :) Sandra xxx

Sandra....You know I am not up to reading novels, lol....and amazed at how well you write them. I always check to see if you have posted a poem and always anxious to read it.

I am so pleased you are doing so well on your novel, and will not panic if I do not see a post from you.

Much love and a big hug to boo....Nan:)).

Very well done, Sandra. Lessons learne dand passed along are the best. I didn't know which way you were going with this until near the ending. Very inspiring little anecdote in prose poetry, my friend. Bob

A very sad but profoundly wise poem. It is well written and flows beautifully. What we do with this life is very important. A friend of mine who has passed on, used to say, "People may not remember what you say, but they will remember how you made them feel." That is what is important.
