Wow Sandra ... what a great poem (or story in a poem) with a very strong message imprinted in our minds with the repetition at the end -

"It is what you do that will matter;
there is no room for questioning why"

As always, shared with excellent meter and rhyme and great imagery.

Much love,
Christine x

    Hi Sandra
    Sorry for taking so long to reply. I'm not too bad thanks. So much has happened over the last 6 - 8 months though. Illness and family bereavement on my husband's side .. ie. his dad was terminally ill and passed away after 2 months in hosp, then his mum - who was staying by us for a short while, became severely ill and had to have emergency abdominal surgery. Afterwards she had to have a stoma bag in place which I (!) had to help her with a lot for 2 weeks straight, as she had problems with her hands because of carpal tunnel. Oh it's a long story.

    Otherwise, have been fairly well. I so miss being on her but I really have had great difficulty finding the time. I'm obviously still registered, which I'm glad about - but I soooo want to spend some time.

    Anyway, lovely getting back to you and I pray that more free time will be available for me soon.

    Much love
    Christine xx

    Hi Linda, dear friend, thank you for reviewing this without getting anything for your time. Bless your dear heart. I've been with Sarah today, she phoned me this morning and for the first time she has let go. Her hair is falling out by the handful, and although she's been through it before and knew it would happen, it's still a shock. She feels sick all the time. Anyway, we sat and chatted, she chatted more today than I've known her do it before. I think the fact that is was the anniversary of her mums death today and she knew it was my mums today too that brought us together for chatting about our memories. She has had a tough time of it. Oh, dear. I just wish I could make it all go away. Big hugs, my dearest friend, thanks for always being so kind. Love always. xxxx Sandra

    I am so far behind Sandra...not to worry...I am heart broken for Sarah...and Ian...I wish I had a magic wand...my friend is in her mid forties...she has three young lids...he ass of a husband walked out on her after her second chemo treatment...her hair started falling out...so she just cut it...her daughter was in Jr. high and shaved her hair for her mother...one of the most selfless acts of love...Joanna cried...so did I...Sarah will be ok...and will come out of this stronger...it's just so sad we have to go through it...I will says a extra prayer for her tonight...it is wonderful Sandra God has put you where you are...a heart full of love...caring...it helps people feel good...now you take care as well my sweet friend...you are tooo needed...thank you for being...and God Bless and keep you strong...lots of love for all...Hi to Ian...love ya you...Linda xxoo

Wow, wow, wow!!!! Such a great observation on what we can do. We can affect others if we only try. This poem brought a tear to my eye. We can always help one another, All we really have to is try. Many times, as in you poem, we affect many by helping one. we should lead by example; not because I told you so. Thanks for this poem. I wasn't kidding about the tears.

This was amazing. It had a perfect rhyme and a great and comfortable reading flow. It told a great story that truly applies to all. It dealt with a reality of life that we tend to forget, thank you so much for sharing Sandra.

This is quite fantastic in revealing a moral to the story, as well as the tenderness in which the story of John Doe was relayed in rhyme. A selfless person who gave up his worth to someone needing it more.

Your chosen artwork is a perfect accompaniment!

We each have our time to do something,
for people to remember us by.
It is what you do that will matter;
there is no room for questioning why.

Your words ring so true

Sandra, I loved this, albeit a sad tale - a story well told in rhythm and rhyme - so clever of you - most impressive.

Blessings,
Margaret

You've done it again! Not only can you tell an excellent story in prose, you can do it so well in poetry as well. We still don't know who 'John Doe' is, but at least two people now know he was a good man. As you say, it is what we do that we'll be remembered for, and wonderful poems like this are yet another reminder of your talent.

I'm sorry the sixes have gone, but this certainly deserves one!
