Goodness me, Jeni, you are such a prolific poet, and of so many styles too! I think to cry is the best healing medicine you could take, release is needed to bring the sadness, anger, hurt to the fore. We need to cry. Excellent triolet, my friend. :) Sandra xx

Hi there are always tears when the time to separate arrives. It is sad. We are human ,to cry is human. Because we feel. This writing is a good lesson and shows a lot of patience, .it relates to every one.
Well done.

All of us need to cry and not hide our tears. My father was deployed many times and it always changed who we were. I like that you take a form of poetry and make it your own.

Hi Jeni
This is a well-written triolet. It is safe to cry when we say goodbye, especially to loved ones. Unfortunately, we have to endure the pain and hope at least we can stop crying and be able to laugh at the good memories.

Well done
Mary

Intriguing image you used , and I love the lines "don't force a laugh while there you stand " especially for our boys who have been cultured to have the stiff upper lip in the face of tragedy, we need to learn not to minimize our pain for pain over others loss indicate we care and cared

This resonates with me, being the one who had to leave many times to be deployed. I like the tone and message you portray. Nervousness and uncertainty always play a role in a forced good bye. Fear is always in play as well. I think you did a good job with this.

How beautiful!!! It's definitely safe to cry when you say goodbye. I mean you as in everyone. I cry a lot. It's so hard for me to let go people I love.

I gather the lover is leaving for some place such as Afghanistan, a sandy place. Of course the poem is perfect for any situation at which one's lover has to leave. You have written a very fine poem expressing a good truth to remember. Well done.

You've penned this triolet well, Jeni - your
words flowing well as they speak of
a parting which will bring forth tears -
it's always hard to say goodbye to those
we care about.
