I really did enjoy this speech. I do hope and pray that he can make a lot of those things happen. It would be so nice for all of us and America. Very good job my friend! Blessings, Teri

I think Trump should have painted a more optimistic picture than he did in his speech. He is certainly promising more than he can deliver, but most politicians do that. I didn't see his speech as being very unifying, either, although he has indicated he wants to do that. Glad to have the speech for those on FS who may have missed it. It was a shame the day would up with Trump claiming his crowd was bigger than Obama's. That we could do without. As I recall, Hillary had changed her mind about TPP and indicated she wouldn't support it. Happy trails! judi

So far he has kept his campaign promises. That is more than most ever do.

He may try to keep his promises, but he's facing a lot of resistance, so many will not come to fruition. A lot of fallout over some of his actions, like the detained passengers. judi

Amen.
Now this is something that I can understand and do wholeheartedly hope that he can pull off. It is about time we thought of America first

Hmmm. Interesting speech. I wonder how many trading ALLIES of the world will suffer with his sweeping policy changes.
Hey I'm all for looking after your country first. Now if you can be completely self sufficient with food, micro computer manufacturing technology, natural resources for the making quality steel. Self sufficiency can come at a price.
There has to be a balance with these trade policies and look at each on their own merit. Yep, time will tell the effect this new parochial patriotism will have on the rest of the free world. He sure does make a lot of promises.

Why should the United States build up every other country in the world and neglect itself? That is what the TPP would have done. (undermined the US economy)

Is it because no other country in the world can match what the United States can do?

If they can, why don't they step forward and do so?

Brett with respect, I am sure the trade between Australia and America benefit each other.
I am more concerned about your debt clock/
All policies cost money to implement where will this money to kick start these initiatives come from?
We are not North Korea or Russia or China. We are a free trading ally of America and I am concerned this trade which benefits both of us will cease with his policy changes.
These are just my personal concerns, they might lack credibility but they are concerns

American workers that were left behind(.) The wealth of our middle class has been ripped from their homes and then redistributed all across the world. But that is the past,

The Donald's withdrawing the United States from the TPP (Trans-Pacific Partnership) on January 23, 2017, as he promised in his Presidential campaign he would do, seems to signal his intent to follow through with his promises. ( a first for any President)

What courage to talk about God openly. What next? Will we get the Pledge of Allegiance back in school? What a concept.

A very well-written editorial. The greatest speech I ever heard, and I did not hear him say once that he will do it all alone, he needs every American that have pride to help building America and make it great again.
