Excellent haiku. What a fascinating little croaker... and he's covered with Fluorescent markings no less! I never cease to wonder at the marvelous creations of the Great Maker; and, am thinking, I would never have got to know this one even existed if it were not for you sharing your poem and info about him. Thank you! Aggie

I really like how the visuals complement the poem. The picture seen and the one painted by the words match so well. Left a good smile on my face.
Thank you

Wow! Cool frog. Learned something new here about this species and about the word anuran. Like the Painted Poisoned Plum . Frog Art - love it! Well done, interesting haiku.

He's sexy. I'd jump his bones -er - frog legs anyway. Guess I'd be dead then after reading your notes. To be honest, I preferred the variant with its play on words: art to die for.

Thank very much for reading my haiku, Shari.
I've had this haiku posted both ways. The variant was not nearly as well received.
I'm really pleased to know that you enjoyed this.
Warmest wishes,

Ha, ha. The variant is higher more sophisticated quality if you ask me.

Well, I know that you know what you're talking about.
Heaven knows, you've written enough of these short form poems over the years, LOL.
Go figure?

Dean, I have actually seen one of these creatures in person. They are beautiful, but extremely deadly. Your entry is certainly a good Haiku for your club entry. Good luck and thanks for informing people about this deadly beautiful frog.

This is a fine, flashy haiku to celebrate an unusual, beautiful but poisonous fluorescent frog. You make effective use of alliteration in all three lines, creating a smooth read and an image. I also learned a new word: anuran.
The croaking, chirping sound effects also adds to your haiku's swampy ambiance.
Thank you for sharing.

Dean, this is a very strange looking but quite beautiful little frog. The color scheme it possesses is very unique, but is quite poisonous. Your haiku is an excellent challenge in telling us what this frog is and what it is to look at. Well done my friend,,,,,,Jim

Good picture Dean of that fluorescent frog, and yes I suppose the prettier they are, the more poisonous they are. Nice picture of the frog, makes me think of flashy shoes.

Wow! It must be a flashy female. As the saying goes - if it looks good, tastes good, it must be bad for you. I really liked your Haiku. Look up the Cane Toad (poisonous and really ugly) imported from Indonesia to stamp out the cane beetle; wrong choice, now in plague proportions all over Australia! One ugly son of a... mother couldn't even love! :-)

Oh, mercy!
We've had a similar thing happen here with wolves, Kay.
The Department of wildlife and game released timber wolves into our area to help reduce the coyote population.
Now the wolves are breeding like crazy and they are wreaking havoc.
Anyway, thanks for reading, Kay. Much appreciated.

Ooo my goodness, mother nature sure is a work of art. The colors are scary, yet very interesting. Great photograph. I like the flashy-frog alliteration best. The A-word alliteration needs dictionary assistance.... leaping; semiaquatic and terrestrial species. Great work.
