You describe a world that is pristinely clean. A world of white snow hugging the feet of stately trees lined up like sentinels in the woods standing guard against the night. The scene is beautiful but not inviting to me as cold weather and I are not friends. I can however, still enjoy photos and paintings that depict it.

It's a striking portrayal of the winter snows and the sheer beauty of the snowfall and its aftermath despite the chill !embellished with appropriate simile -final two lines stanza two creates animate the event - not often in modern verse do we get repetition that creates a powerful impact -beautiful imagery 'and alliteration 'sparkling flakes of diamond dust ' winter truly has its own beauty as exquisitely demonstrated here

And WHAT a holiday it must have been Janet. I loved this bouncy poetic swirl through your winter wonderland and it seems the Master is a dab hand at making things look quite splendid indeed. Very much enjoyed this read, albeit in an icy trance haha (your fault LOL) Expressive and picturesque. Well done mate!

I lived in Upper Michigan before....the North Woods are beautiful. I loved ice skating. This is a lovely wintery poem, blessings...

Beautiful!!! Personally I love snow. It is wonderfully beautiful. Sadly. to many find it an inconvenience. I sure wish the snow would whirl and swirl around here. For January, it seems more like early Spring than the dead of winter... Excellent...

you know I really like ABCB rhyme scheme I call it the lazy rhyme scheme purely because you only have to rhyme 2 lines.

I think it is time the grizzly bear of winter and snow to go back into hibernation. Lovely metaphor and great imagery.
