Hi Patricia,

I've read a few poems for this particular 'Picture This' challenge. You did a great job here with your Double Etheree, in capturing the essence of the artwork. "Leaving others to wonder why she had become like stone" is my favourite part.

One minor glitch for a true Double Etheree though ... "lacking magical power in his hand" is 10 syllables and not 9 ... an easy fix to change it to 9 syllables.

I love the look of Double Etherees and Nonet poems on the page. Well done, Patricia!

You held on to that progressive structure of a conjoined Etheree and Reverse Etheree faithfully here as you clearly wrote about this stone lady. Nicely done.

Patcelaw, this is an interesting interpretation of the Picture Challenge. I really like the way you have presented this piece to tell the story of a lady as cold as stone. I also like the way you have adapted the picture to give it some independence from the other posts with the same. Very clever. I would do the same if I knew how but mine is the same as others. This is a great challenge poem. I like your story. You expressed your ideas well. There is great flow to your words/lines, too.

I enjoyed reading it. Readers can think of several things that could cause this situation. Making them think it great.

I could not find a starting place for this picture. But you did a great job.

Thanks for sharing. The color scheme gives it a bit of an eeriness. Jan

Sad. Creative take on the challenge. It is a piece that makes me think. It makes me wonder if she chose to be stone. And why she would have chose that. Thank you for sharing your work.

Oh, that is so sad. I like the visual effect of this diamond shaped poem. It divides nicely at the turning point of when the stranger decided changing her heart was impossible. Praise God that He never gives up on us!
