This poem reaches your heart and takes your breath with powerful lines, and excellent vocabulary. Rhyme as always, was perfect. The message was inspired in the way you put it across, bringing it to a stunning crescendo, Brilliant. Kind regards Meia.

I didn't see one of these types of poems last month. Glad to see them now. This is one of the better ones I've read about this picture. I like the way you see Mother Earth in the statue.

A good story poem, Sandra. The first line in the second verse is a wee off in rhythm, I am thinking. But really, a nice poem for sure. Best wishes with this one.

An excellent piece with a message everyone needs to hear. We took and took and someday there will be nothing to get back, she will be barren and unloved.

I gave six because of your ability to take a current situation and see it to it's bitterest end. This title reminded me of a song by Electric Light Orchestra,
"Turning to Stone"
The symbolism portrayed here is very palpable, and as part native American, "Cherokee", this is a vivid portrayal of the worst case scenario. The image is profoundly appropriate, and your personification of earth mother is so moving that by the end, a shiver went up AND down my spine.
Blessings, Brother Badger

I am sure God would be upset at what we have done to the Earth that we were to take of. I am also sure He's shaking his head at how we treat each other. I enjoyed reading your poem that needs to shouted from the rooftops.

excellent, very nice, mother nature turned to stone because we raped the planet of everything there was to take. Great rhyme with a good meter, great job on the challenge. have a wonderful day.
