Thanks for sharing another of your fine poems that I have thoroughly enjoyed. And wouldn't you know it, it's only Monday and I'm already out of sixes. They just don't give us enough, darn it. Or maybe, I need to ration them a little better. Great job.:-)

I'm the same, Ric. When you think how many people are members of FS, it's easy to go through the 6s in one day. Thanks for thinking it rated a 6, I appreciate that just as much. Big hugs, my friend. :) Sandra xx

I see Lot's wife posted over and over...must be some Eekfrastic thing. Or Medusa has come out of the closet. Your story farfetched? Find an ancient dustbowl Okie and
ask him. Excellent poem.

They are all members of the 'Picture This' group, where one member chooses a picture and we have to come up with a poem about it. This was mine, it was a tough one this time! Thank you for reading mine, my friend, I'm glad you liked it. :) Sandra xxx

You certainly put your thinking cap on for this one. It slaps of truth, of what we are doing to Mother Earth and what we will end up with - nothing! Bringing the male in to the bar was a great idea. Loved it. XXK

A beautifully written picture this challenge poem. Your well-chosen words flowed well line to line combining easily and forming the message of the poem for the reader.

An excellent interpretation of the photograph, Sandra. Your poem is powerful and sure makes the reader think about how careless the human race has been. Mother Earth turning to stone is an awesome image.
Smiles,
Karyn :-)

What a wonderful interpretation of this picture challenge.

This poem makes me think of Robert Service. Have you read his work? The way you've shown what will happened to the world is outstanding. Now, Mother Earth has turned to stone.

Enjoyed this tremendously. 8-)

Very good flow and rhyming in this poem that warns of destruction. With so many people on the earth and limited resources we must figure out a way to obtain what we need and still save the planet. Marilyn

Thank you, Marilyn, I can see this playing out if we don't think of something to stop it. Sad isn't it? Sandra xxx

Sandra, this more then exceptional, it is outstanding. The picture brings to life the words of your intense poem. So many thought provoking feelings and the story told by that stranger does say it all. Your poem ending couplet is very poignant, but also very sad. All you wrote could possibly come true, if we don't pay attention. Very well done Sandra! Much love to you! Your friend always,,,,,,,,,,Jim xxx

Hi Linda, thank you sweet girl for you lovely review and 6 shiny stars. I love our planet, it's the most beautiful in our universe, but my goodness, we are destroying her daily. So sad. Love you too, my dear friend. Biggest hugs. :) Sandra xxxx

Ian and I are having a day together tomorrow, we're both looking forward to it. Sarah had her operation at the beginning of this month, she had her first chemo last Friday. That was quite quick, she thought she would have a 6 week break, but they've started it much earlier. She feels dreadful, but in a way, she's glad they have because it will get it over faster. Dear Chloe is stronger than I'd ever be, but having supportive parents and family, and she is so popular at school she is doing okay at the moment. Thank you, my dear friend, love always. xxxxx

I know you and Ian will have a wonderful day...and Sarah will be ok...they say chemo isn't as bad as it used to be...but it can make you sick...and God Bless to Chloe...she will make it...smile my sweet friend...all will work out...you will see...love you so...Linda xxoo

This is a sad poem and the ominous warning is one we need to listen to. We need to grow up and finally see we need to save what we have left before it kills us.

Keep writing
