What a pretty sight, this is a nice tribute to a cardinal and winter. You did a fine job with syllable count and bird topic of the prompt.

Your 5-7-5 is beautifully illustrated and the message is poetic and reminiscent of these striking birds at any time of year, but especially in winter. Nicely done. Marilyn

Lovely picture and a sweet sentiment at the heart of your 5-7-5 poem.
However, as with at least one other entry in this contest, I find no hint of the required wit, hence the missing star.

You're right, Steve. I overlooked that key word when I read the prompt. Too late to fix, but muchas gracias for the heads-up and for taking the time to review.

excellent poem, the artwork you chose was spot on with the poem. it feels so much fuller than a normal 5-7-5 poem. I am truly envious of your ability.

Thank you so much for your kind praise. I am especially flattered that you envy my skills I learned from writing, writing, writing more than five decades.
