Love the poem and love this piece. I think your daughter and you make a great team bringing this injustice to view. I hope you will publish it in some other forum than this one. Thank you for sharing this plight of the "informal." I don't know how it compares to Mexico but I know some from there who left school to work at a young age and as adults felt they had lived up to their dreams to do factory work. I'm not sure if different people groups suffer more in these countries.

Very many thanks. I think that this is an endemic problem throughout Central America - and in a good few other places too. Thanks for your supportive comments. Tony

The poem in the opening is stunning! It is beautifully constructed and just flows like a lazy river when read aloud so that hooked me immediately. You write the descriptive passages throughout this wonderfully making it a joy to read. I also enjoy the fact that you provide so much information in this segment about the people and their way of life. I had never heard about the organizations you mentioned in this and now am curious to see what I can find. You are doing a brilliant job with this as it is more than a travelogue and NOW it even includes amazing poetic art. I am so happy that you are sharing it. Thank you very much.

Many thanks, Monica! Glad you enjoyed the poem used by way of introduction to this part, and the story of Ernesto, too! Best wishes, Tony

Ernesto's story is heartbreaking, especially when it took him a while to come up with the 'dream' of becoming a chauffeur. I'm glad Anna has the vision and willingness to do something about putting faces and voices to people in this situation. You have a right to be proud.

The background to some of Anna's photographs in Third World countries is quite harrowing. Sadly, she has just recently been diagnosed with glaucoma and may soon have to give up professional photography as her vision has deteriorated quite a bit. We're hoping the progress of the disease can be slowed with modern medication.

WOW!!! Thank you for the information. I would never have guess this was possible in the modern world. You pointed out a gigantic discrepancy in what we think of as poverty.

Yes - I too had not really considered the enormity of this situation, so common in many Third World countries. It took my daughter to raise my awareness.

I think you are being an activist right now Tony, by writing about and being involved in this publication, however "meagre" it will catch the eye of the reader and promotes a response, most of us don't realise our gift is to be shared, yours is writing, give it to the poor, I love this post, and I wish I had a six. But I find that my writing is most rewarding, in practical ways. No matter what belief people own, ALL will relate to this in some way, Unspoken 94 (Bill is onsite) is a clinical psychologist, who works with the terminally ill, shares his experiences online, it has a deep affect on me, and I'm sure to many others! Share.your talent, and your daughter's journey, Tony, bless you my friend, Roy

This is a heart-warming story of survival that goes on a million times a day in far too many places. I was here last year in this beautiful but destitute country.

Your daughter's photograph is priceless.

Thank you for sharing.

I really enjoyed this work from this brilliant author and apologize for the lack of the well-deserved but missing sixth star. The photograph was a real "grabber" at the outset and established an emotional foundation for the story to follow. It was very well written (as always from this author) and I enjoyed it in all ways. I cannot offer anything to improve this work in any way. HIS GRAYNESS
