There's a sense of peace, and also a sense of humor, in the final line "morning yoga class." Meets the line/syllable/and challenge of a haiku for the topic to include nature and for the last line to offer a reveal.

This one made me smile from ear to ear. Good and funny satori in this poem. I had a thought, just a small suggestion. Would it be better to say master yoga class over morning. Or is morning keeping with the aspect of nature? Like I said just thought.

Take care,
Russell

Thank you, Russell, for your great review and comments for my bird haiku. I'm pleased you enjoyed the satori line, and thanks for your kind response. I like your suggestion very much. I used morning because I envisioned them at lakeside waiting for breakfast and doing their stretches. Thanks!

Well done, IndyHeron - I can already see this haiku in the 2018 calendar! This is a beautifully written haiku with connected imagery and a delightful satori. Marti recently sold the large copper logo, but will be making more, in different sizes. I just sent her this haiku along with your wonderful comments about 3heronsart and thanks for the artwork. She'll be thrilled. The 2017 calendar continues to be a success and will also be available at the art shows this year. 2017 is going to be a busy, creative, and fun year for 3heronsart.

This is the first I've heard about Haiku Club Challenge, so will be checking it out. So ... the winner of the challenge ends up in a book? Do members of the Club vote? Well, I hope you win! Cheers ... ;o) MorningCoffeeKat

Thank you MorningCoffeeKat, for this awesome review, the shiny extra gold star, and your wonderful comments. I heard from Marti...what a sweet lady she is! I truly hope her business continues to grow and cro. I gave some dakandars as gifts for Christmas and they loved them!

The haiku club accepts any haiku from anyone into the multi-authored book. The "committee" ...the people who organized the club...will select what haiku they will include in the book.

Thank you, Art, for your encouraging and complimentary comments.

Hi Karyn
That's the perfect finale, "morning yoga class". I watch some of these yoga instructors on the TV sometimes. They are always women, what's with that? But the slow, precise movement is always there, like herons, all legs. And "effortless", too. That's a great adjective. If I tried to move like that, I'd either get a terrible cramp, or I'd fall over!
Nicely penned!
Hugs
Kimbob

Indiana Irish, what a neat haiku. It made me smile. I really like that last line... morning yoga class. I can just imagine those herons doing yoga

I do like this one, Irish. It has a great aha moment in the satori that flows well out of your first two connecting lines. Clear imagery that would stand on it's own without the picture - well done. Should be a strong contender to be included in the book

This is a beautifully executed haiku true to traditional form.
three herons balance - concrete imagery
with effortless discipline - seamless connection to line one enhancing the visual of the scene
morning yoga class - excellent observation connecting nature to every day life in a solid satori
Nicely done and I thank you very much for sharing it.
