Oh Sandra, this is so worth a 6. Beautifully written in good heptameter throughout. Perfect aabb, etc, and the words are really very lovely. I also love the picture. A very, very good piece of work. Faultless!! Warm regards Dorothy xx

Very nice, Sandra.
The poem you've composed here concerning one brave and noble woman's life as a missionary was very well rhymed and read smooth as silk when read aloud.
It's almost sonnet-like in nature although the lines of each stanza are much longer.
It's a beautifully conveyed poetic tale told in only the way that Sandra Mitchell (that'd be YOU!) can.
Nice work.

Aww, bless your heart, Dean. I'm so pleased you liked this memory of mine. She made such an impact on my young mind, I don't think I've met anyone a saintly as her since. I think they are all special people and do so much good in the world, and also they put themselves in a lot of danger at times. Thanks again, my friend. xxx

It's always a pleasure, Sandra.
Warmest wishes~

What a lovely and heartwarming English Sonnet about a missionary woman who touched your life when you were young, and certainly made an impression that you so eloquently expressed here.

This is a very beautiful portrait and at the same time a tender homage to this missionary lady. She is walking in God's embrace...Beautiful!

Beautifully done poetry. The way I think it should be done, tho I'm not a qualified critic. I liked the rhyming and the message. Very nice. (I don't know who the lady in the pic is, but she is beautiful also.)

A delightful poem, my friend. Missionaries do a tremendous amout of service around the world. Strong rhymes except for the slant rhyme of been/seen. A lovely tribute to those who do so much~Debbie

Thank you, Debbie. I agree with you, they are vital for bringing people to God. They certainly made a huge influence on me as a child. :) Sandra xxx
I remember someone else mentioning the Seen/Been rhyme, and so I spoke to one of my American friends on Skype and you do say the words differently to us in the UK. They are pronounced identically here, only the b and s changes. It's like 'be/bee and sea/see, or b and c. xxx

Further proof that we should always respect our elders because they are literally a treasure trove of memories and knowledge. Your tale presents this is a powerful and yet, calming fashion. Job well done
