I never saw this picture before. But it complements your poem perfectly. The Night Queen is of Hell. You want to die you wrote for us all, but it is not about you..

As you know I love your words. The pussy cat smile with the tiny forked tongue turn the tide to scary. Somehow he always finds her. The beautiful one. What price such beauty. Scary indeed.

Thankyou so much.I had a suggestion to leave the forked tongue out but I want it to remain. I want the serpentine quality to be dotted throughout the poem especially at the beginning. Thankyou so much for your excellent feedback.kindest regards, Meia :)

Brilliant scary write of the power of a woman and her seductive charm and intoxication. Beautiful verses filled with erotica, very much liked. Hope you don't mind me saying that the 'The hint of forked tongue' line could be changed,as it is a tiny bit modern and stark for the poem. That's just my preference. Love Dolly x x x

Ambergris has a very specific odor and this is readily identifiable. To some people the scent makes them nauseous while to others it is attractive and even sensuous.
Kinda like my poetry, heh-heh.
There is certainly an animalistic component, reminiscent of farm animals, or even fecal matter, in fact. Like that of a well rotted manure heap, or a whale that's been washed ashore and baking on the beach in the scorching sun for days. There can also be a strong marine note like the smell of seaweed on a beach.
The thing about ambergris is that once you have smelled it, you will likely not soon forget it.

Excellent free verse, Meia. Your strong word choices and eloquent delivery made this a delight to read.
Enjoy your weekend.

Thankyou as always Dean, for your very kind review. You are very knowledgeable as ever. Yes, I wanted the cloying, decaying but also strangely seductive tones of Ambergris come across as part of the man longing for the night queen while originally wanting to escape her clutches. Kind regards,Meia
