Hi June,
This is a very creative entry to the 5-7-5 Romance contest. I can see why this poem won. Congrats! The use of the word "navigating" speaks volumes. We really do have to navigate through many things together in a relationship. I also like the comparison 'twixt a couple and two adventurers at sea ... clever!
Well done!

Great backdrop to the perils of love and that the journey of love is like sailing the seas and its perils.
Excellent wording and picture presentation.

Yes, life is a journey and how we enjoy it depends on how we maneuver through the waters. Thank you for your encouraging thoughts.

I read all entries and, although it is not as romantic as others, it is much more meaningful to me. Life and relationships are indeed an adventure; especially for those of us who care deeply for the other. For me, it has been forty-seven tears of marriage and the adventure has never stopped. You got my vote

Well, I'm glad it resonates with the less romantic more realistic crowd who've been through the perils and still come out strong. Thank you for your insights and vote! 48 years for us!

now that doesn't surprise me at all. Congratulations on the 48. I knew there were more around than just us.

A well-written contest entry. Your well-chosen words combined easily forming the message of the poem for the reader.I think you completed the challenge of the contest well.

I like this. I think sums up one form of romance and love perfectly. And it happens that many of our older members will agree with this sentiment. I think this will do well.

Well, you certainly are insightful. My husband and I have been sharing adventures for 48 years and are now enjoying live
with little mateys - our grandsons. Thanks for your kind comments.

This is a nice 5/7/5 that makes the reader wonder what the two adventurers have found in each other. I hope it is love.
Life is an adventure to be sure, so your presentation with a sailboat and a challenging sea are perfect.
Good luck in the contest.

Thanks for the kind comments. Life is an adventure - a total of all that is good, bad and even ugly. But it's how we choose to navigate the waters that makes the difference in whether we enjoy the sail.

So true. It is that way with all that we encounter. Life can be a joy or a misery - and much of what we get in in our perception. It's about the journey - not the destination!
