Well, it might be late, but it would have been a total shame not to have written it - it's wonderful, my friend. I am trying to single out just one stanza as my favorite; can't do it! I think it's between the first and the third - okay, let's go with the third. *smile* It was lovely to watch this man as if I was there...

This is beautiful, Sandra, a moving tribute to the artist. I'd never looked closely at this painting before, just received a blurred impression of a woman and child walking, with an umbrella over them. Your words made me actually look at the painting and discover that wasn't what was there at all.

This is beautifully composed and rhymed, Sandra. I love it. Several of us posted on this very topic of the artist, including me. Some artists do make plein air sketches and then go into their studios to paint a canvas (as you have indicated here). Fascinating, I think. I really enjoyed this beautiful poem. Marilyn
