A lovely earth haiku. From high above the land looks like a patchwork quilt and is quite beautiful. Quilts give a very homey feeling. Your satori is very fitting for you haiku. "welcome home" is just right for the feel of this beautiful imagery

I have lived many tears away from New Zealand, but there has never been any doubt where home is. That is the feeling I take from your haiku. In fact New Zealand and Ireland are often compared - similar size and climate and both green. Perhaps our patchwork is a bit crazier...
