Very nicely composed throughout in this story poem. Let's hope this scene doesn't play out in reality. It has been tough for many who have lost their jobs and can't find work. Maybe now things will improve and be on the upswing. Good rhyming throughout. Thank you for sharing. Marilyn

Trouble is, Marilyn, there are more homeless people these days than every before, and it's just not right! Thank you so much for your lovely review, my friend. I'm glad you liked my take on the picture. :) Sandra xx

Hi Sandra. I think we always have to look at the bigger picture and ask ourselves why certain events are happening. What will we do about it? Can we do anything about it on a personal level? Or are we just observers? I think as writers we call attention to things that are important to us, social injustices, pet peeves, meaningful crusades. Those who are of like mind grab onto that cause, band together to promote it. For me, it's the plight of hopeless animals, domestic violence, and addiction. Believe me, there is some cause out there that touches everybody's soul and all of it is timely and worthy fodder for our words. Marilyn

I'm with you there, Marilyn, I wish more were. It's no good sitting on the fence complaining, many injustices are done to innocent people. Animals, they break my heart when I see the cruel things some people do to them, they should suffer the same torture they inflict on these trusting creatures. I look at mine, and I swear I'd go to prison if anyone ill treated mine. I would take the law into my own hands! xx

WHat a powerful poem, Sandra. It's such a testament of what goes on nowadays. So many losing their jobs and homes, and if family doesn't stick together, living on the street no longer seems a choice. Thanks for sharing your perspective. Beautiful though sad pic! Drew xx

Thank you so much, Drew. It is a sad picture, I agree, it was taken by one of our FS members, Douglas Paul. I'm really pleased you liked my take on it. I hope he does! :) Sandra xxx

Fantastic poem with wonderful rhyme, rhythm, and flow. Tells the story of what happened to this man to make him homeless.

Thank you so very much, Melissa, for the lovely 6 stars! I always wonder at the people who are homeless, what happened to make it so. There are so many people losing their jobs these day, through no fault of their own. It's tragic. I'm so pleased you liked my take on the picture, thank you. :) Sandra xxx

Oh, I'm so glad. I thought it was the Angel of Death at first.

I can't imagine anyone passing by such a person and leaving them there.

Great poem to answer the challenge.

Too many do die, Yvonne, and many are in that position through now no fault of their own. It's tragic. I'm really pleased you liked my take on the picture, I decided I'd give him a happy ending!! Thank you, my friend, for the lovely review. :) Sandra xx

Bouncing back. A great story for those who can do it. And I think someone has to help in some way. It's too hard to pull yourself out of a hole that deep without a hand up. I've tried to help others, as you know. They both treated me like garbage in the end, but I still believe I did the right thing... just found the wrong people. If I weren't sick, I'd take in another messed up teen, and hope for better luck next time.

I know you would, Phyllis, that is your nature. I hate to see you hurt each time though. You look after you and Mark, and save your strength for the grandchild you will hopefully have soon. The people you love and who love you are the important ones. Thank you for reading this, my friend, and know that I love you too. :) Sandra xxxx

Bless you, my good friend. I appreciate having your support, even tho it's from very far away. Wish you were next door. Uh, scratch that. I'd never get anything done. :)

Sandra, this has so many thought provoking points of his certain demise. But yet, the poignancy which comes forth when an angel comes to retrieve him from a certain death. What a tremendous and a very happy ending!

Well done my wonderful friend. Sandara, I truly pray this year of 2017 will be much better for you and your family! Love you Sandra!! Jim xxx

Hi, Jim. Happy New Year, my friend, I hope you have a happier and much healthier year. Thank you for reading my poem, my friend, I'm so pleased you liked it. Thank you also for those nice prayers for my family, this horrible cancer is eating away at everyone and there seems to be no stopping it. But, we stay positive, like you, my friend. Love you too, dear Jim. Big hugs, Sandra xxx

This is a beautiful story in a poem
for the Picture this challenge. Your
heptameter lines are spot on and tell
the story well. It only takes a helping
hand to right a wrong. Well done dear.
A virtual six on this +++++* Nancy xxx

Beautiful story ending to this story within a poem, and one I assumed would end with his death. Lovely to think he received a new start. Nice rythm and meter, Sandra.
