Hi Maria
It is typical of kids taking up a different meaning of what is really the real thing. Yet they are never far off.
Well done, a good poem.

It's tragic how a few numbers can derail a person's whole way of life.
I have NEVER used scales, we don't own them and I rely on the mirror and how big my bum looks in this to gauge things and at the end of the day we just have to work with what we've got.
Your little poem described a horrible piece of equipment that is a true soul destroyer! Expressed well
Tell Mom to ditch the darn thing! Her self confidence doesn't need to take a beating daily. I'm sure anyone that is overweight probably knows it...they DON'T need a set of scales rubbing salt in the wound.
Cheers P

I'm glad you liked it, Linda.
My youngest son, Pablo, who is twelve, says I have no sense of humour ;)

This was so creative and so very truthful. It is interesting that a machine can hold so much power over people. The picture was cute and the words of the poem direct this affliction toward the female gender. Great job, thanks Maria

It's the time of year no one wants to step on that contraption. It does make you sad! I would like to think it lies too! LOL A fun and timely poem.

The doctor weighed me the other day and her scales said I was two kilos heavier than the ones I have at home!
Thanks for reading.

Ha, ha. This is a good one. So true. We know we've been overindulging and yet insist on stepping on the scale. It IS enough to make a grownup cry. Best put it off until after the new year. Marilyn

I don't fear it. I tell people I'm bulking up for the Olympics. I'm ten pounds away from my event. The two-hundred-twenty-pound jerk.
