This is a clever and entertaining piece. I like the poetry.
The idea of making your husband work to get his present is a nice touch to gift-giving. Did he ever make you work for your gift?
Maybe your son should be given a prize for solving the puzzle. Another puppy would be nice. 5*

Clever, and good for your son. I'm stumped. Something that's gold? Jewelry? Is it something he wanted or expected to make guessing easier? I give up... I'll have to peek at the answer. :)

I know what it is! It's a Lexus, right? A brand new Lexus wrapped up in a huge red sock. Either that or a rock polisher. Okay, I don't really know, but this is my kinda Christmas present giving.

I give up. Some items are 'gold.' Some will sweeten your taste bud. Others will make your husband look and smell better. Milk duds threw me off course. Appeal to all our senses is the only thing I could think of.

Or maybe they are products that appear in a series of commercials when his favorite TV show is on.

Red an blue could be references to football teams too.

Very clever idea but No, I could not figure out the single factor that connected it all...I told you I was terrible at puzzles. It sounds like it was a lot of fun too. Great work with this one.

After reading this post I'm pretty sure I can solve the riddle. The one item I have a question about is Golden Light Blue Agave Sweetener. I know it's a necessary ingredient in making bagels, but what is your husband going to do with it?

I still can't quite 'see' the present.
