I was afraid to finish reading once I got to the "I couldn't run if I wanted to" line. It was deliciously scary, but not right from the start, which made it scarier because it descended into darkness as the poem progressed.

What a fantastical poem! It's horror lingers on after reading it . . . though hopefully not through bedtime!

This is quite scary, and hope I don't have nightmares again like last night and punch myself in the eye! So true and have a large bruise. I wonder why so many are writing this way at Christmas, lol. But love the spiritual ones more. Your muse must be hanging around Dean! Get her/him away and maybe a trip to a sunny place might be good, lol. Enjoyed anyway, and have a happy New Year. . .Sharon

Sorry you had bad dreams last night.
    I
Must admit that as I adore dean's writing, this in fact is all mine. The Christmas seasons I try to get through and forget because the last time I saw my first born son alive was Thanksgiving day and he died on Jan 8 two years ago .

Sorry to mess with your joy .

I didn't even think what time of the year it was, more dark but not as grisly poems may surface before Jan 1 sorry . love, jeni.

Hi Jenni, and so sorry about your first born, and can only imagine how hard to accept, and around the holidays, oh my. Write whatever you must to get through this, but hope you can find a bit of joy somehow. God Bless...Sharon

Wow, shocking, provocative, and poignantly poetic. That mumbling part at the end was particularity thought provoking, much like the end of:
"The Blair Witch Project),
if you recall.
"I felt like I was going to beat forever"
Great concept, you sent a chill from the tippy top of my head, down to my by then frozen toes and into the ground that registered 3.333 on the Richter scale
Well written!

Thanks for mentioning the Blair witch. I was obsesse with that movie.

My favorite party was in the end, when the guy was standing in the corner. In the legend of the Blair witch in that the next victim had to stand in the corner so he or sfe could only hear the screaming.

    Great review!

    P. S. I used to use that lasf scene on my computer!

That's ok, as I read between the lines, but thanks for confirmation!

Hi Luna, to be honest, I don't know what to make of this. I don't even know whether I like it, let alone understand it. I almost skipped it. I like the words though and would like to understand? Happy hols. All the best. Ulla:))

Dear Ulla, it's hats to describe this because i don't know how. I can tell you though that the reference to my mother is really not to her. I could have said Jack or Joe, it wouldn't have made a difference to me. I am sorry, but glad you got your points and money!

Thanks for your honest reviee, it's appreciated.

Luna,

I had a hard time with this one. *smile* I had to read it about six times before I could decide if I liked it or I didn't like it. And I still don't know. But I think I APPRECIATE it. How about that? *smile* It's very interesting -- in a highly disturbing way. hahahaha! Thanks for sharing -- I think!

Thanks Bill, for enjoying this poem. I've been berated by many reviewers by posting it all this time of year, but that's just okay.

    Thanks for your review, Bill.

    Love, Jeni.

This is an excellent poem to creep us out. I bet Dean would love this one. Frozen with fear with fear in this dark tale. Eerie feeling of excitement as I read faster and faster. I couldn't control the tempo, it just kept building. Excellent little horror. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas.

I like this! The imagery is truly creepy and disturbing. No light shines in this place. The only problem I encountered was with the fact that I'm too much of a literalist and was trying too hard to understand everything your poem had to offer. It was only when I went back and read the title, "Dream Sequence", that things fell into place. Great writing!

Oh, my, my friend. Remind me to wake up. This is certainly reminiscent of my worst fears inside of any nightmare.
This is one of those times I would be pinching myself to wake up.

Tons of imagination from you, author. You deliver an array of different poems.
My best wishes.
