thank you for sharing this nonet about the beautiful peony. We had several bushes in my backyard when I was a child. They were beautiful to look at, but so hard to clean up after the petals fell. Your poem is lovely,

I really like the imagery you chose and how descriptive your poem is. I have a peony bush and it is amazing to see how the little accidental gardeners help this beautiful flower bloom.
Thanks for sharing.

A great poem that follows all the rules and a terrific description of the ants and the peonies. I watch them all the time and this will make me remember why. I am glad you chose pink.

What would we do without these unseen gardeners that labour day and night? We have just introduced eight new beehives below our vegetable plot. There are so many beneficial insects that are destroyed with thoughtless use of insecticides. You remind me of the story of the gardener that planted a garden specifically to attract butterflies and then spent his entire time trying to exterminate the caterpillars!

We need to learn to share this planet with all creatures great and small. Thank you for your insightful review.

Nicely done, June!
I didn't know that was part of ants' job description! Imagine! With all that better-equipped, kiss-and-fly winged competition!
Good luck in the nonet contest voting!

Charming adn well penned, true to form, finely presented and finely worded with outstanding alliteration of P and G.
I love the portrayal of a bee as an:
"accidental gardener"
Though I do wonder if bees have tongues? Do they lick or suck? Sucking makes more sense to me, somehow, but I really do not know for sure.
Good luck in the contest. Great entry.

Actually it's an ant. Not sure if they suck, so I chose lick. Thanks for reading and reviewing!

Oh! I assumed it was a bee! :-)))

A very well-written nonet. The ant also has a task in the garden to do. They do it little by little when they do not come to the kitchen to collect food for the winter.

I thought this was very creative. I love the visual when you describe tenderly opening each petal - really takes your poem to the next level and wonderful imagery as well. Excellent!
