This is a very good metaphor for light. Darkness can never overdome light when the light is burning brightly. Happy New Year, Patricia

Darren,
This is truly bright. Heehee But - I do mean it. It's an insightful poem that we should all take heed to! We should all be letting our light shine, not just at this time of year, but all the year through! Thanks for the reminder!

Hello Badger_29
Your haiku gave men image of how if one has faith in one's self is like a burning candle even in the darkest of time of our life will forever burn
I like you haiku very much.

This haiku, The Lonely Light, uses its seventeen syllables to personify this sole incandescence, which is sometimes what remains as hope when all else has gone dark. Nice poem.

Badger, very well done. You've said so much in this short poem. This world is a dark place and sometimes we feel as if we're the solitary candle in the dark

Nicely done, Badger...and nicely in tune with the image of which you give thanks to its provider.
Good imagery, good separation and then the relation.
Good work.
My best wishes.
Have a great 2017

This is a beautiful haiku, perfect for this dark time of year. And, such a precious poem to memorialize your friend. Well done. In addition, thank you for your comments, especially informing me of the phrase "Shine on you Crazy Diamond". Reading your haiku encourages the reader to remember to shine no matter how dark the surroundings may appear.

Thank-you so much for taking the time to read and review. Roger Waters wrote that song for Sydney Barret, who was the previous drummer for Pink Floyd.
I appreciate your comments. Happy New Year to you and yours, Brother Badger

I like the message I just think that it should not have two words that in ly near the end. I think the word brightly should of just been bright just settles better with the reader.great poem great picture that represents what your poem is portraying. coop

Hey JACK2, I really appreciate your input. I have edited keeping the syllable count, and I like the new version better. Thanks again for the beneficial advice.
