You certainly have a way with words. I like the contemporary feel of your very moving essay. It seems that you have a talent for leaving no stone unturned.

I really had to concentrate when I read your commentary because it is a deeper level of reading and, therefore, requires a deeper level of understanding. You have obviously put a lot of thought into this and presented it well.
You think 'outside the box'. When given the choice of being the flea or the trainer, you opt for jar breaker. That was really good.
This statement struck me as sad:
'The enlightened man is the greatest stranger in the world; he does not seem to belong to anybody'. This is sad to me because it indicates that there are few who are enlightened.
The Helen Keller quite you ended with was spot on.

The three blind men and the elephant are a great analogy of POV.

I did not know this about the flee circle. Of course I never saw one either.
It seems somewhat like Pavlo's Dog.

"The dumbing down of Americans is most evident in the slow decay of substantive content in the enormously influential media, the 30 second sound bites (now down to 10 seconds or less), lowest common denominator programming, credulous presentations on pseudoscience and superstition, but especially a kind of celebration of ignorance." - Carl Sagan (You have watched some of the Election, right? LOL.

Best quote from Ms. Keller:

"The only thing worse than being blind is having sight but no vision."

Great line.

This is a very profound article. Great job.
Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukah and seasons' greetings.
Heidi

An interesting read on point of views. The supporting statements that were included to defend your position (Point of view) in regards to connectivity were well selected, however, I wasn't absolutely certain where your position started or ended. You made mention of the election, but I didn't feel a complete connection to your position. Your writing is clear and well written. I think it would have been clearer to me if your position on ego/points of view, etc., were set out a bit stronger with an accompanying quote to tie it in. All in all, a well written piece that presents an interesting argument on points of view.

Very well written and descriptive.
These are indeed the thoughts of a deep thinker so you are very well named.
I was involved in Multi Level Marketing in the 80s and 90s, so I have also heard of Zig Ziglar.
I'm very impressed with the amount of research that it took to write this piece.

I enjoyed your essay on the subject of different perspectives. Great quotes from wise leaders from different walks of life, added interest. Different perspectives have always been part of the human experience, causing wars, reformation of religion, and oppressive governments and kingdoms, but in the modern age, with our present media, our attention is focus more on them, than ever before.

Rather than dealing with the skill of listening to the opinion of our neighbor next door, or uncle from another neighborhood, we hear the opposing beliefs from all over the world on a daily basis. It can be overwhelming to process and adjust. I've had to construct a guiding principle. Listen, acknowledge, consider. relate... unless.. .the other opinion is inhumane, cruel, and disrespectful of any person, I must hold to conscience. Somehow, humanity must finally arrive at a shared perspective of respect.

Very well written essay and you explained some very complex ideas in simple enough terms that most could follow your argument or discussion. I wanted to comment on one thing. I am new to FanStory. My first short story was 4,000 words long and it was very hard to get people to read it. I was told by one of my reviewers that most people will not read more than 1,000 words on this site. Stay under 1,000. After a while and some experience, I found out that this was true. Nobody wanted to know the whole story, they wanted it dumbed down. The news organizations give sound bites because that is what the average ego desires, keep it short and feed my ego. The news organizations are just providing the people what they want. Just a thought.

The question is: Does it matter if those with a short attention span read your material? Thanks for the input...John

Actually I am here for feedback as I develop certain skills and one of them is descriptive skills, building characters and scenes. It could be said if I was a better writer I could get people to buy into the 4000 word story and keep reading. What comes first the chicken or the egg?

Interesting, and I think you're telling us we should have voted for 'the Hilz.' Hmmm. Because we of the lesser minds don't know that we are ruled by erroneous egos? And old Hillary is so enlightened? Yeah, right. Well written essay.

Typo, here...

"We are all programmed along with all other life. As with all programs containing bugs, the desired result from our actions is often not what we expected. A program is a process that contains instructions to achieve a particular goal, or result. This process works exactly the same as our thought process and is replicated in a computer with zeroes and ones. We call them zeroes and ones, but the method we use to differentiate them is to test whether a bit is on or off. A string of zeroes and ones generates what Tesla would call a vibration which is the basic unit of all communication. Good vibes are what we seek. "

I found that paragraph to be very interesting

I found this incredibly thought-provoking. I had for many years an active drug problem. I guarded it with the same passion a mother lion tends her cubs. Nothing nor anyone was more important to me. Drugs started my day and finished with a worry 'did I have sufficient for tomorrow?' One day I attempted suicide, which thankfully was aborted and I ended up in hospital. There I met a woman who headed somewhere every day at the same time then some time later she returned. I quizzed her and she answered 'I go to my A.A. meetings.' After some time passed I started to accompany her, and I gave drugs away from that first meeting forward. I learned the mind is a very powerful tool for either good thinking or for 'stinking thinking.' Both types are an inbuilt trigger that makes us human and above the 'so called' lessor animals. It is a type of mind control that we find so delicious and so hard to relinquish. If we don't, we suffer, if we do we also suffer, to stay clean. Years later the mind try's to convince us to 'go back' it was so much fun. Take it from one who has been there it was no fun! Regards Mabaker.
