I appreciate the way your probe the question of our sanity. We all know we need to change our path, but, as you state, the choice to do so, is our greatest challenge. I liked your insight in the lines, "appearances differ, but none within" as it points out that we have more in common with each other than differences.
Loved the metaphors at the end of the poem, for sooner or later we will surely run out of chances.
Great subject matter and projection of thought. It was a pleasure to absorb.
Have a good weekend,
Bill

Thank you.

An interesting piece of writing that I found a little difficult to follow. That doesn't mean I didn't like it. The right brain I believe deals with emotions and intuition, past etc. Right brain is action and intellect etc. and future thought.

All creativity lies in the right hemisphere. Thank you.

A very good poem. Sometimes I feel like neither side of my brain is functioning. It's like I'm operating on my thymus gland. Very good writing.

Ouch! Victor!
So the H*** with the rest of us??!! Come on. Surely, a COUPLE of us deserve to continue on. A COUPLE of us didn't do everything wrong?? But no, you've created a new Noah's Ark and populated it and killed off the rest of us. --sigh--
Let me know when I'm dead. --frowny face--

This poem makes me embrace the idea of being a grandfather. I've three grandchildren whom I hope to guide past a rocks and pitfalls and find the best of life and faith.

From two came the many. Our existence begs so many questions. Why among all life was man given the power to think and to reason, to record and to not only create, but to also recreate. Why are we the only species able to write down our own stories. No other species have ever possessed that ability, display that level of intelligence. Evolution can never provide an acceptable explanation for these truths. Indeed, what other species can even express or ponder over truth? My pronouncement is that we were definitely created by an intelligent creator.

Being educated in biology, I used to discount the creator side of things. But now, being older, I am not so sure. Thank you.

Yes, we were given plenty of chances as a species to evolve intellectually and morph spiritually, Victor.
And yet we've failed to do so.
Mankind is, and has ALWAYS been, its own worst enemy.
Will we continue on the current path? Or, will we finally wake up from out of our self-induced coma?
Only time will tell...

Interesting piece. One of the characters in my novel finances a movie about a black Adam and white Eve. The picture and title brought that to light.

There is great hidden depth in these short lines. Each couplet is is almost a sltand alone comment on the world as it is. Colour differences and climate change notwithstanding. A pretty grim prognosis too but that is because we have squandered those chances.
