Hello, Roy,

I appreciated this faith filled poem. And, (being a gold miner myself:), I enjoyed the subject matter with its insightful projection about the worth of the human spirit.
In my opinion, we have lost track of our true purpose in life; enlightenment and growth of our humanity . As your poem states, we need look no further than within ourselves to find the peace that has always existed in our hearts. The measure of success that most people grave, (as Jim Carey states), is not found at the top of a pile of cash. It is found in those moments of reflection, inner searching and faith.
Beautiful work with this piece, Roy...I hope those with ears can hear your message.
Have a great weekend,
Bill

I, too, believe we are have "gold" in us. Sometimes, we don't look deep enough in a person to find it.

Beautifully written, as always.

Your poems are always inspiration to me. 8-)

And yet God sees the gold in man
beneath our flesh He seeks man's span;
He'll wash away that dirt to find
where naked eyes of man are blind.

This stanza is perfect. It speaks volumes! Good job.

A. Ery well-done poem. In a simple sense, it rhymes, which is pleasant, but in a grander sense...you have sought truth and shared it with us in your verse. It seems you have been made humble in your salvation, and I hope that humility is strengthened in time. I would encourage you to keep producing pieces of truth, for they will enrich the lives of your readers. On a personal note, you did not keep it too long, which I appreciate, and it was pleasant to read. A writer is someone who writes, but no one said it has to be such and such a length, so again, thank you!

This is a great piece Roy. I love how you have brought the two parts together. I have had the opportunity to go gold hunting in the North Georgia mountains with my family. We did find gold but it was a lot of work sifting through all of the dirt. Yes, we did find fool's gold also. It was a ton of fun. As for the second half, yes, Jesus has sifted through all of my dirt and grime to find His gold. It was years ago and it was very elusive. He had His work cut out for. I glad He never gave up and I wouldn't trade my life now for all of the gold in Ft. Knox. Wonderfully done. This would make for a great object lesson at church. Blessings and I wish you and your family a Merry Christmas.

I like that term ''all men have gold within them sewn.''
Lovely term, for the interpretation of gold do not always need to be a negative one.
As usual your faith shines through.
Have a good day, Roy.
Best wishes.

RO,

Emotional reflections are insightful. Good impact and rhythm. This poem made for an enjoyable read. Created impressions through the descriptions are vivid, forceful and making the reader think about it.

I saw no SPAG and no typos. Everything looked in place.

Your feelings are very understandable and expressed through the poem.

I look forward to seeing you again.

Love you,

Oatmeal
