Lovely poem, Connie, and congratulations. They'll have to show him how to help wth the baby. If he's part of caring for her, he'll like her more. :)

Thank you, Phyllis, for your review. Yes, I agree that Jack helping with the new baby will make him like or love her more.
So good to hear from you.

What a delightful way to celebrate the good news, by writing a poem to share and record the happy occasion. Excellent iambic tetrameter and end rhyming. Your meter flows smoothly which carries your theme well and makes for an enjoyable read.

Sooooo, let me get this straight, Connie. The only time we'll see a poem from you is when you have a new grandchild? (Just kidding--congratulations on your new little granddaughter.) Jack is adorable. Loved your poem, written well with great flow and easy rhyming. :) Marilyn

Thank you, my friend, for a delightful review. Nope, I plan to write more often than whenever I have a new grandchild. I don't know why as a retiree I never have any free time these days. I make notes of poems that I start when I'm out and about but just never seem to have time to sit down at my computer and actually post and review. I'm working on it though!
    Thanks again.

Awww Connie... this is such a perfect poem told in Jack's voice. I can find nothing at all I'd want to change. I'm just sorry I ran out of sixes before I read this. I think Jack will be a proud big brother to lil sis. He can be made to feel very important in her care and nurturing. That's what my parents did for me when my baby sister was born. She has always been my special sister.... all my life. Congratulations on being grandparents again! That's wonderful! Your poem is precious. Keep it in a frame on baby's wall. ;")

Thank you, my dear friend, for such a lovely review. It is so good to hear from you, and I think of you whenever I think of FanStory and how I miss being around more. I'm hoping to have some time this weekend to do some reviewing, including reading some of your wonderful poetry.
    My very best to you.

Aw, this is precious. Congratulations!!! A baby girl, too sweet. He probably WILL have his jealous moments, but he'll be overly protective as he grows older, a good thing! Blessings...

I like this little poem, I know what the little girl is feeling, coming from quite a big family myself. Having a share parents if good for children, but not always an easy adjustment to make.
Thanks for sharing,
Oliver

A lovely poem. You should frame it and give them each a copy when they get older. I have six kids and eight grandkids. All boys except for one. Guess who gets spoiled... me.

Connie,

You know it must be hard at first for a little one to move over and allow someone else part of that wonderful spotlight. It just goes to show that parents have done a great job when both (or all) their kids feel loved and adored equally. *smile* BTW, CONGRATULATIONS!

Thank you, Robyn, for a great review. I do believe you had mentioned that you had either become a grandmother recently or that you were going to be one. I've been away from FanStory so much that I don't know if you've written about this experience yet or not. I will have to check into that.
    Thanks again.

Thanks, Connie. Yep - my first grand baby. *smile* I've written a handful of poems for my Harper. But none recently. I'll have to fix that! Thanks! Good to have you back!!

I love the name Harper! My daughter and son-in-law keep disagreeing on names for the new one to come along. We all have our opinions but must let them decide, of course. Congratulations on becoming a grandmother!

This is a sweet wee poem, written from the POV of a young boy learning that he is to have a new baby sister. I am sure not all youngsters would have the common-sense approach that this young chap seems to have - is there a little bit of wishful thinking there perhaps.

In any case, the poem flows nicely with very smooth rhythm and good aabb rhyming.

Steve

Thank you, Steve, for a lovely review. Yes, I think there might be a little bit of wishful thinking regarding how Jack will respond when the new one comes along. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
    Thanks again.

So shall he and more. It is a beautiful way of introducing the new baby on the way. There are calmness and love in the poem that you will share. Smooth words well balanced with the image. Thank you for sharing, Ella
