The objective correlative of the poem reminisces the tendency of mankind to seek the face of God when under threat of death.
The work highlights man's tenacity to his faith at such moments and the potency of the blood of Jesus in letting him overcome.
The work constitutes a significant commentary on the never failing inclination of God to reward them that diligently seek him.
Outstanding work! Keep on flourishing.

Comment from Sasha
You never cease to impress and amaze me with your poems. Yes, sadly, it is true that so many fail to believe until the end is near. It could have been me were it not for my trip to Ensenada to visit my friend. I have been searching for God for a long time an who would have thought I would find him in a dusty, over-crowded town in Baja California? Great work with this one. I enjoyed it immensely.

Lovely artwork that complements your poem perfectly. It is partly based on religion. You write about death around the corner, it is like being in the trenches. But all are just pawns in a big race. AABB rhyme all the way. Best wishes for the contest.

That is so true, it seems even non believers when death is in their face suddenly wants to be a believer. Good rhyme and meter, the message and meaning is clear. Thanks for the share and have a great day

Roy, what a wonderful job you did with this. I wish everyone
could look at what God made and see that He exists and see
His love for us. If only all would believe. The last verse is
my favorite.

Our souls seek through perception's eyes
yet foggy lenses smear that prize.
How can we know when souls will glean
from shadowed wraiths, not what faith's seen.
Well said, Bro. My blessings

I guess you are right, in moments of mortal danger we all believe. Maybe it's easier to forget about God when things are going well.
Very well written poem, as usual.
Good luck in the contest.
