This is a lovely septolet poem, Portia.
God sent His only son, Jesus, to brutally die on that gnarled tree on Golgotha Hill in order that ALL--not just some__of our past transgressions would be forgiven.
Therefore, it is imperative that we not only forgive ourselves for wrongdoings we may have done, but we must also forgive others for wrongdoings perpetrated against us.
How can we expect God to forgive us if we refuse to forgive anyone else, including ourselves?

Very well written and stated. More often than not, others forgive us for mistakes we have made after we have acknowledged them and apologized. Yet, we will spend a great deal of time kicking ourselves for the error and take forever to forgive ourselves even when the mistake has been long forgotten by everyone around us.
